Birthday Shaker with My Favorite Things

Recently My Favorite Things had a sale, and they included some shaker windows. I got the matching die set for one of them. I also bought a birthday stamp set that was really cute. The small stamped images were Studio G dollar stamps from years ago, but the little girl with the cupcake, the sentiment above her, and the shaker are from My Favorite Things. The little beads inside were found at convention a few years ago. I'm not even sure which company sold them. The embossing folder is a very old Cuttlebug folder.

I will probably be making this card, and the lilacs card (not the sympathy one, but the one shown before that) with my card group this month. Normally we make three cards, but the two cards are both a bit more time consuming to make.

Baby Girl Card

This Tuesday's RefuPeas stamping challenge was to use the colors white, pink, green, and gray. That was harder for me than I expected, but I did find a couple of papers that finally got me going. The green and white background was "Carrots" from the Echo Park Happy Easter collection. (The other side of the paper is just carrots.)

The border, individual flower, and onesies on the clothesline were all fussy cut from a sheet of paper called Sugar & Spice from the Baby Mine collection by We R Memory Keepers. The clothesline actually had a yellow onesie in it, so I fussy cut a pink onesie from another part of the banner border and glued it on top of the yellow one to keep the colors limited to the challenge. I found the pink BoBunny Candy Dots at Tuesday Morning just this week.

"The Snuggle Is Real" banner was stamped with a set from the Queen and Company Baby Shaker kit, then cut with a Spellbinder banner die that I've had for years.

Birthday Cupcake Shaker Card 2

Tonight I played around a bit more with the Sweet Shop shaker kit from Queen and Company. I used the papers that came with the kit to make the card.

There are a few things on the card that are from other companies, such as the die that I used to cut the happy birthday banner stamp. The stamp is from Hero Arts. I don't remember who makes the banner die. It just happened to fit fairly well with the stamp, and I liked it better than the banner die that came with the Hero Arts sentiment stamp set. I cut the hearts with a Karen Burniston die.

I made this card partly for a challenge on the RefuPeas stamping board. We were supposed to use 3 different papers from the same collection. I loved the little Sweet Shop paper pad that came with the shaker kit, and I wanted to make another shaker card. Win win.

Sympathy Card

A dear friend died recently.  Below is the card that I made for his widow, an even dearer friend. Today, a neighbor died, so I will be making another like this.  Both families receiving this card are people of faith, and so am I, so this card reflects that. It is a slight adaptation of a different card that I posted relatively recently, but I love the bird cage and the lilacs.

The stamps and die that I used are from the Heartfelt Creations Lush Lilacs collection. The embossing folder I used for the background (which doesn't show as well) is from Sizzix. The bird cage die cut was cut from a metallic black card stock.

Birthday Shaker Card

I used to make shaker cards decades ago (literally). I still make them once in a blue moon, but after seeing some really cute dies with shaker kits from Queen and Company, I placed an order last week.

I had my order two days later. I made this card for a friend whose birthday was in January, and I missed it. It also meets the Feb. 11th challenge on RefuPeas.

The card stock is a Bazzill bling that I found at Tuesday Morning. The embossing folder that I used is a really old Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The shaker die set is from Queen and company. I used slightly different fillers for the sprinkles. I don't remember who the stamp set and banner are from.

Very Simple Birthday Card

I've been asked to make birthday cards for the women at church. I'd need to make up to 18 per month. In order for me to do this, they would have to be simple, because I would have to sort of mass produce them.

This is the first possibility. I used Graphics 45 Cafe Parisian papers. I fussy cut a rose from the paper and although it isn't obvious, I popped it with foam tape, as well as the banner. The birthday banner is a Heartfelt Creations Young At Heart stamp, but I think that set has been discontinued.

2020 Feb Card Night

None of these will be a surprise. I've already posted them, but these three are the ones that my group will be doing for card night. The card on the right was tweaked a bit, but not that much.

Anyone who wants can do their own thing instead. That's what they have been expecting, anyway, with some flower instruction thrown in.
