Refupeas Tuesday Challenge: Shake It Up!

It's my turn to host the challenge. I chose to do a shaker card challenge. I showed several examples and wrote what I thought were detailed directions, but I guess they were not as clear as I thought. Additional clarification was requested, so I decided to add process photos to help clarify. These are the different types of shakers that I currently do. All projects and photos are mine, although the Goofy card is an adaptation of one from the Queen and Company website. Stamps for the top and bottom images are by My Favorite Things.

First, the basic, foam tape shaker, which is the way I learned to do shakers more than 20 years ago:

Second, the Queen and Company shakers use dies and foam. These are my current favorite type
of shakers to make, and they are thick enough to use bulkier fillings, such as buttons. You can cut fun foam with their dies, but you will need to cut and glue two layers to get the same thickness as the foam shapes that they sell.

Finally, the molded acetate window shaker, made to go with matching dies. This is one by
My Favorite Things, although there are other companies that also make this style:

Queen and Company "Outside the Box" 2nd entry

After having more time to think about other possibilities, and seeing how creative other people were, I decided to try again. I created a Minion using the Spaceship dies. I used Queen & Co. Foundation dies and their Disney 6x6 paper pad for the rest of the card. I used Heartfelt Creation prills for the shaker filling, because I wanted the color to match the yellow of the Minion.

Queen and Company Goofy Birthday Step Card w/Envelope

For this card I used Goofy's hat from the Queen and Company Magical Shakers Specialty Kit. I agonized over buying this kit, because it was a bit pricey. I used the papers from the kit, but the shaker fillings were from other kits, with one exception. I had some multi-colored candy balls for cookie decorating, and the darker blue candy balls were a good color, so I picked them out individually and added the dark blue candy balls to the plastic shaker balls.

The step card was a cutting file from the Silhouette Design Store.

If you look closely, the image to the left of the card is a decorated envelope.

I hoped the Goofy Hat shaker would be recognizable, especially with the sentiment, but I figured Goofy clip art would make the envelope cuter and give a "hint" if it was needed.  Everyone knows the Mickey head shape. Goofy's hat? Maybe not. The Goofy image on the envelope looks blurred in the photo, but it only appears that way in the picture.

Love Your Leftovers Challenge

The most recent RefuPeas Card Challenge was to use leftover items from kits. I don't subscribe to kits, but I was making kits for my card group. I also have a ton of scraps. Everything on this card was a "leftover," including the stamped image, which is from the Saddle Up & Celebrate stamp set by My Favorite Things. So this is what I came up with:

Queen and Company Hot Air Balloon to Easter Egg

Queen and Company's Tuesday Tami issued a challenge to use one of the shaker card sets and think outside the box, so I turned the Hot Air Balloon card to an Easter Egg.

Space Shaker Card with Queen and Company Space Kit

I think that I made this on Friday, but I forgot to post it. The star corners were created with a die by Lawn Fawn. The background paper is from the Graphic 45 Midnight Masquerade collection. The astronaut and sentiment stamps are from My Favorite Things. Everything else is part of the Queen and Company Space Shaker set, but I inked the background of Saturn. I cut the space ship from multiple colors, cut it apart, and pieced it.

NSD Queen and Company Challenge Card 5

This is the last one. All entries have to be posted by midnight. I used the Queen and Company Under the Sea Specialty Kit for this card. The shaker fillings and papers were part of the kit. All I had to use from my stash was cardstock.

NSD Queen and Company Challenge Cards 3 and 4

I didn't do a shaker on this one, but it still turned out pretty cute. The cupcake stamp is from My Favorite Things, the Happy Birthday stamp is a very old Studio G stamp.

Everything else is Queen and Company, including the papers.

This next one used the Shaker Magic set and the Mickey cupcake is one of their new Magic embellishments. The papers are from Echo Park, a Tuesday Morning find from before COVID-19 Stay Home orders.

National Scrapbook Day Queen & Co. Challenge Card 02

We can enter as many times as we like. Here is my second try, using only Queen and Company dies, papers, stamps, and toppings.

National Scrapbook Day with Queen and Company Challenge 01

I have been buying a lot of Queen and Company shaker kits recently. I just got their Special Delivery set two days ago. I am a sucker for trucks. I don't own any, and never have, but I love them even if I can't buy one.

I spent National Scrapbook Day on Queen & Company Royalty's Facebook page. They have card challenges using sketches and their Foundation dies. This is my first card, using my new Special Delivery kit, although I did reverse which way the curved edge went, since I wanted my truck on a hill, not in a ditch:
