Heartfelt Creations Paper Pad vs. Digital Comparison

Disclaimer: your printer can also make a difference in the color when printing digitals.

Also, by law, printers aren't supposed to be able to duplicate colors exactly, to prevent creeps from trying to print fake currency, which makes sense.

Below is a comparison between the Heartfelt Creations Iris Garden paper pad (top image), when compared to the printed digital image (lower image). The digital image has more blue to the background, as well as a more golden color than yellow. The details are very, very similar, with little to no degradation in the copy. I used a photograph of the two images this time, instead of a scan because scanning can result in a small amount of degradation of the details. I could have used Photoshop to adjust the colors (although I can never seem to get a perfect match),  but I wanted to show the actual comparison of the printed version to the paper pad version.

Another Heartfelt Creations Iris Garden Card

I played around with some of the print and cuts that I had done using the Heartfelt Creations Iris Garden digital collection, and this card was the result. It's simple, but I am happy with it.

Western Swap Revised

When I watched the "How to Do the Swaps" video for the second time recently, I realized that my western tag/title was far too bulky. It was all die cut, and was 6 layers, plus foam tape. The mini-swap requirement is that it is only 2 layers. I have played with different ideas, and posted an alternative, which I might still send in (you can sign up for up to 4 spots), but I decided to try to turn the rope frame and boots into print and cut files, so it would only be 2 layers. I spent yesterday morning working on it, and while I liked the original better, this one at least will satisfy the rules. I also like it better than the Hey, Cowboy title.

I Scrapbooked for National Scrapbook Day

It may not seem that amazing, but this is only about the second time in 20 or more years that I have been able to actually scrapbook on National Scrapbook Day. We almost always had some family gathering or trip happening in previous years.

I have a ton of Renaissance Fair photos to get scrapbooked. Our family loves to go to the Fairs, and have been to the Maryland Renaissance Fair, the one in Virginia (smaller, more educational), Scarborough Fair in Waxahachie, Texas, and the Texas Renaissance Fair near Houston.

I wanted to scrapbook our 2012 visit to the Maryland Renaissance Fair. It needs two more pages to be finished, but I developed vertigo Saturday night, so I only got the first two pages done. Still, it felt really good to scrapbook again. I used Graphic 45 papers from their Enchanted Forest collection (2016). I will probably use the same papers for all the Renaissance Fair photos that I have yet to scrapbook. Renaissance Fair themed papers are rare and hard to find.

I Didn't Pay Enough Attention to Instructions

I had listened to the Ginger's Corner Swap instructions before, but listened again this morning to make sure that I was doing everything right. Unfortunately, I realized that because I had not taken notes and/or not listened carefully, my swap pieces were two thick, for BOTH swaps. So I have re-created my Tie Fighters without the Glossy Accents, which had added a bit too much "bulk." The western swap had too many layers, but there was no way I could duplicate it and have it be thin enough for the swap. So I picked something simpler, and tried to delete the photo of the previous one, but did not succeed in removing my earlier photo. The new version for the western swap is just a title, made from two different Silhouette designs. There is no yellow background, though. I just needed something behind it for the scan, since the horns didn't show up against the white scanner background.
