2020Apr14 RP Sunshine & Rainbows Challenge Revisited

I haven't posted the card that I made for the challenge, other than here. Because it included some of the elements that I will be using for the challenge I am posting next Tuesday, I decided to make a new card for the Sunshine and Rainbows challenge.  I still used the same background paper, and I will still be using the same paper for next week's challenge (I'll be the host), but at least most of the paper is covered in this card.  I used circle dies to make the rainbow, and Silhouette Design Store files for the sun and clouds. The stamped sentiment is from My Favorite Things Polynesian Paradise stamp set, which I cut with a Spellbinders die.

2020April14 Sunshine and Rainbows Card Challenge

This challenge was about sunshine and rainbows, to be interpreted as we liked. The paper made it easy, and I got to use the Penny Black Hedgie stamp that was begging to be put on a card.

2020April7 RefuPeas Card Challenge

This challenge was based on Crafty Al's April Sheetload of Cards video.

I don't do mass card making, so all I did was the one. Basically, it's kind of like following a sketch, and mass producing a card based on that sketch. I wasn't going to participate originally, but got an idea this afternoon and went with it.  I used Graphic 45's Midnight Masquerade line.  I fussy cut and popped the phrase and flowers in the lower right corner. It was supposed to be a circle with a stamped sentiment. It was pretty easy, and other than fussy cutting the "sentiment" would be fairly easy to mass produce cards. It would waste a lot of paper, though, and take a lot of time to fussy cut that or other sentiments from the paper. I supposed I could have stamped something in a circle instead......

Disney Album Epcot Finding Nemo Layout

This one was fun to create. It came together quickly (for me), because I had already found in my stash some very old Cuttlebug Disney sea themed dies with coordinating embossing folders to add details. I cut them all from white, used sponge daubers and ink to color, embossed the details, then inked some more. The diver, however, was obviously intended to be a Mickey, but the mask had no face. I found a clip art image online, colored and sized it, cut it out, and put it behind the mask opening. I am very happy with how the layout turned out. The paper background is from Scrap Your Trip and was listed under Princesses: Ariel. I found it at the LSS about 2 years ago. The large sea shell was cut with a Queen and Company die. I found the title online, and used my Silhouette to do a trace of it, clean it up, and cut the title.

Disney Album Epcot Mexico Layout

This is not my best work. I really struggled with this layout. The chili peppers and titles were Silhouette Design Store files. My card stock did not want to cut clean, so they were a royal pain, even after enlarging them as much as possible. I added an extra mat behind "Mexico" to help tie the color scheme together. The patterned paper that I used for the background was from the Genevieve BoBunny paper pad.

Under the Weather Get Well Card

Our son's girlfriend is a Physical Therapist Assistant who works with Special Needs Children. She was exposed to COVID-19 when she went to a patient's home to do therapy exercises with a child. The mother of the child started with a fever the next day and tested positive for COVID-19.

His girlfriend got tested yesterday morning, but won't get the results for a couple of days. She started with some of the symptoms last Thursday or Friday. Obviously we are hoping she will get well quickly, whether it is the Coronavirus or not. Update: she didn't have or get the virus!

Her favorite color is yellow.  The top image is the front of a card that I made for her, and the lower image is the inside of the card.

The phrase on the front was just typed with my computer. The inside sentiment, the ducks, and little girl images were all from the My Favorite Things BB Rain or Shine Stamp set.  The cloud on the front is a shaker, also from My Favorite Things. I filled the shaker with Recollections clear micro beads.

The papers that I used were both Pink Paislee. The one with the umbrellas, sun, and rainbows was called Stormy Weather, from the Hello Sunshine line.  The one with the raindrops just says Pink Paisley. I can't see any name for the paper.

Update #2: This card will be the example for the RefuPeas Tuesday Card Challenge on 4/21/2020.

Disney Album Tangled Layout

I started this for the RefuPeas Disney Crop Challenge, which ended a week ago.  The background papers are from Close To My Heart (CTMH), from long ago. The title is from Paper Wizard. I created the banner using a Cricut file for the sun flower center, and a Silhouette banner file. The flower and Pascal were dies that I got in a set at Tuesday Morning. I cut the pieces from different colored cardstock and pieced them, which was a royal pain, but I am happy with the results.

March 31 Little Things Challenge

I struggled a bit with this RefuPeas Card Challenge until I decided that I was expecting too much.  I had some leftover mini Mickey heads that I had made with Nuvo drops. I hadn't used them for the original project, so I made use of them for this card challenge. The papers are from Echo Park's Magical Adventure 6x6 pad. The large Mickey head was cut with Queen and Company Shaped Shaker Magic dies. I just didn't use the shaker part. Simple, easy, done. Now I can get back to scrapbooking.

April Ghoul's Day 01

I have been part of a very small message board for years. Lots of years. Over time, most left, but there are still a few of us left.

The gal who basically keeps it going has issued a challenge. This is a rather strange and bizarre time with most of us under "Stay in Place" orders due to the COVID-19 threat. She suggested we have a month of Halloween crafting. She is a quilter and cross stitcher. I think she just wanted to get going on her Halloween cross stitch projects, but regardless, she issued the challenge, and most of us are trying to join her.

Today is the start of April Ghoul's Day projects. Most of my Halloween themed projects waiting to be done appear to be hidden somewhere in my craft closet. It needs to be cleaned out before I will likely find them. Besides, I really want to keep working on my Disney album.

I needed something fast and easy. While poking around my craft closet, I found some burlap canvases by Tim Holtz that I found at Tuesday Morning. I also found some 12x12 acetate Halloween overlays, another old Tuesday Morning find. I fussy cut one bat out and popped it so it adds a little dimension. A few black rhinestones and a wee bit of Halloween gingham ribbon later, this is what I came up with:
