Graduation Step Card

I am behind on sending out congratulations to a couple of high school graduates that I know. Yesterday I finally got a graduation card made, using a Silhouette Design Store cutting file. Sometimes you just need easy and fast, and this fit the bill. I used metallic card stock for everything but the base.

2017 Disney Album Lightsaber Layout with a Shaker

This is my first time using a shaker on a layout. I have no idea how well it will fit in the page protector, especially since I had to double the depth of the shaker. I never would have thought to make a shaker such as this one if it hadn't been for Tuesday Tami challenging us to either make a shaker with a different base such as a photo, or to use something unusual, such as a momento inside the shaker. I have included a close up view of the shaker. I did have to cut of the piece that holds the light saber cake decoration upright in the cake. It wasn't part of the light saber design anyway, and it was too long, and far too wide to fit even the double deep shaker box.

The layout itself is relatively simple. I created my own title using the Star Jedi free font. I used Jedi silhouettes from the internet that I had downloaded for a potential Star Wars t-shirt. I never actually used it for any of the t-shirts that I made for our Disney trip, but it came in handy for the layout.

Queen and Co. Foundation Sketch Challenge Card #3

Everything is Queen and Company, except that I used Nuvo Drops for the centers of the flowers.

Queen and Company Sketch Challenge

Yes, I've been doing nothing but Queen and Company lately, but they have had some fun challenges. I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I just love their products, and they have great customer service. Making shaker cards has been my therapy over these last few months.

On Tuesday, July 14th, Ginger Williams did a show and tell video showing their new Foundation die sets #6,7,8, and 9. I pre-ordered them that night, and they shipped on Friday the 17th. I took them out of their packaging last night, but I didn't have time to play with them until this morning. I did make a card a week ago, based on the sketches, but I didn't have them in hand at the time, so I used other dies that I had on hand.

Both cards were made based on sketches for set 8. The first card was made with the dies I had on hand, including the Queen and Co. Love Jar and Bug Jar sets. I used the bug shaker fillers, but I added some pink micro beads that I had on hand, too. I used patterned paper from their Flirty Florals paper pad. The vertical strip and tag were my attempts to duplicate what I'd get with the Foundation dies in set 8, but after the dies came, I realized that I was a little off on the proportions. Still, it was fun to make. I'm not entirely satisfied with the card, but here it is:

This card I made using other dies from Foundation Dies set 8. The sun shape just screamed to be adapted to a sun shaker.  I used the "icing" die from the Travel Shaped Shaker set to make that. I needed the outline die from the Magic set for the window. It worked, anyway. The stamped phrase is from their summer set. The patterned paper was from their Happy Hello paper pad. The heart bling was from a thank you freebie pack in one of my orders. I used buttons and seed beeds that I had on hand.

Queen and Company Birthday Challenge

The Queen and Company challenge this week is to make a birthday related project. I decided to make a box card with the Space shaker set. It's one of my favorite sets. I also used their balloon die from the new Special Delivery summer add-on set, to add to the stamped balloons.

I used clear acetate to make the astronaut and Saturn appear to float.

Queen and Company Outside the Box Challenge 2 Life's A Picnic

For this card, I created a picnic/fast food lunch with a variety of Queen and Company dies. The dies and how I cut them are shown below the card front. I didn't have the outline die for the Happy Holly Days present that was used to make the fry box. It would have been easier and perhaps looked a little better if I did, but it still turned out okay.  First, just the card itself:

I have no idea who makes the phrase and ant stamp. They were originally one stamp. I cut the phrase apart. The ants are a line of 3, but I only inked one ant and stamped it individually where I wanted it on the red checked background. I have no idea where I got the stamp, but it may have been Tuesday Morning. It was at least a year or two ago, maybe even longer.

Edited on July14th at 12:14 a.m. Tami showed her favorite entries except for two, which she couldn't decide between. Mine was one of the two. She did eeny-meeny-miney-mo to decide, and the other card won. I ordered from Queen and Company the following day. My package came today. The owner apparently really liked and appreciated my card. She included a consolation prize and a very nice note with my order. It made my day.

Queen and Company Outside the Box Challenge 2 Lazy River

On Tuesday, Tami issued another Outside the Box challenge, and that we should try to come up with something that left the viewer wondering, "How did she do that?"

So here is my first card based on that challenge, along with the Queen and Co. dies that I used. I wanted to create a Lazy River scene. I even created my own shaker.
