For this card, I had to use a rectangle. I used scraps and Queen & Co. dies, along with a few adhesive embellishments.

CARDtober Challenge #27 Gem Tones
This challenge was to use rich gem tones on your card. I chose to go with amethyst and emerald, which also let me use some Graphic 45 paper that I have been wanting to use. The purple background actually is closer to the colors of the Graphic 45 papers than the scan made it appear. The twist was to use a long, thin element, so I included some twine that was that rich purple to match the G45 paper.
CARtober Challenge 26 Fun Fold Diagonal Easel Card
I love dimensional cards, fun folds, etc., so I enjoyed this challenge and the results. I used BoBunny Butterfly Kisses papers, and some old K & Co. ephemera. The top image is the card completely closed. The bottom image is with it open in the easel position.

CARDtober Challenge 28 Magical Beasts!
This is the last challenge that is my responsibility to host for CARDtober 2022. Every year past, I have done at least one box card. Earlier this month, I was too sick to really want to make the effort, but I decided to get my box card in at the last moment. However, that is not the challenge. The challenge is simply to include a Magical Beast, a four footed creature such as a unicorn, alicorn (winged unicorn), centaur, griffin, dragon, etc.
I used stamp sets and a box card die set by My Favorite Things to create my box card. The clouds are from the Queen & Co. Foundation die set #9. I had to fussy cut each of the dragons. I really should have bought the dies or gotten out my Scan N Cut, but I still am not feeling that great, so sitting and fussy cutting was easier (for me) than cleaning my craft room and setting up that cutter. It's not usually a problem, but this is the end of CARDtober, I've been sick for four weeks, and I didn't have the energy to clean up yet.
The sentiment was from a different dragon set by Mama Elephant.
CARDtober Challenge 20 Neutral Colors
The challenge also included a twist of words as part of the background. I had this paper in my stash from a long ago Tuesday Morning shopping trip. I never use it for scrapbooking. I'm not sure why I bought it, but it worked for the challenge. I fussy cut and pieced bits of it and added the bits. I like it, but it is very different from my usual style.

CARDtober Challenge 25 Scraps
We were supposed to follow a particular card formula for this one. It's an easy one if you have appropriate ephemera to go with your paper scrap strips. I didn't. I had to fussy cut and pop mine.
CARDtober Challenge 24 Never Used Stamp Set
This stamp set is from Paper Nest Dolls. I used a 6x6 paper pad by Samantha Walker called Summer Lovin' for the papers. I also used Queen & Co. Foundation dies.
CARDtober Challenge 23 Hexagon with Shiny Gold
I used a BoBunny paper line for this card, and Gold Stickles. The Stickles doesn't show up well in the photo, but it does actually look nice.
CARDtober Challenge 22 Holiday Unusual Pick Your Own
I chose to do Book Lovers Day (Aug. 9). I had a fun stamp background (Hero Arts) and unrelated but perfect stamp set (MFT) to use for this one. I made this one for a very special friend who used to be a librarian.
CARDtober Challenge 17 Never Used Stamp Set
Originally I used a different stamp set and made a different card, but I kind of lost track of where I was and ended up making another card, and I think it was really supposed to be for this challenge.
I had received a free die from My Favorite Things, but I didn't have the stamp that went with it. I tried to get the stamp for the longest time, and I finally succeeded. This is the stamp. The papers are old scraps, really old. No idea who makes them.
CARDtober Challenge 16 Shapes Rectangle
I may have accidentally made two for this challenge......or perhaps two for one of the other challenges. I've kind of lost track as to where I am.
Anyway, this is for the Rectangle challenge.....at least for now unless I figure out it was something else.
I used BoBunny papers.
CARtober Challenge 15 Holidays Christmas
This challenge was to create a Christmas card, and the twist was to add a pre-printed image to it. Graphic 45 worked well for this, the St. Nicholas Collection from awhile back.
CARDtober Challenge 13 Pastel Colors
I don't have a lot of pastel papers. Most that I do have seem to have a theme such as baby or Easter. I went with BoBunny's Cottontail Collection and fussy cut the flowers in the vase and the Easter Eggs. It's simple, but it fits the challenge.

CARDtober Challenge 12 Fun Fold Double Vertical Stepper
This one was relatively easy. Choosing the papers took the most time. It's a bit bulky, but it's kind of a fun and different card. It's very 3D.
CARDtober Challenge 11 Unusual Embellishments
I was really scrounging through my drawers to see what unused/unusual embellishments that I had on hand. I dug out some older paper to go with it, and this was the result:
Unusual embellishments used were burlap, brads, and a charm. This is not a card that will mail well.
CARDtober Challenge 10 Unused Stamp & Die set
I have a lot of stamps and dies. What is surprising is that I have used a lot of what I have bought over the years. Some I wasn't sure if I had or hadn't, but these older Heartfelt Creations stamp and die sets still had the seals, and I thought they might make a cute card.
I also used a dashed curvy line and a dragonfly stamp, although I don't remember if I have used them or not. The daisy border is a shaped edge of the card front. The card front is really only half of the size of the basic card. The dragonfly is on the inside of the card, which shows, since half the front is cut away.
CARDtober Challenge 09 Circle
This challenge was to use at least one circle. I obviously went overboard. I mainly wanted to use the linked circles die (one of Queen & Co.'s Foundation dies).

CARDtober Challenge #21 Magical Folk
All of the challenges that I am posting have a "magical" aspect to them. The first week (Oct 7) was Movie Magic. Oct. 14 was Holiday Magic. Today, your challenge is to make a card with a member of the Magical Folk community on it, such as a gnome, fairy, elf, witch, wizard, dwarf, leprechaun, etc.
The twist is to either add something you wouldn't expect to put on a card, OR adapt his/her costume in some way. I used vinyl to make the book, because the lines were too thin for card stock. I also used vinyl for the Wizarding 101. I adapted my gnome's costume. The company that makes this gnome is Jaded Blossom. I have the basic gnome and the cowboy add ons. That is it. I wanted to make a wizard gnome, so I added a little black cauldron from Queen & Co., as well as giving him a book. His wand is the stick from the stick horse of the cowboy set. I added a moon and stars to his hat and used the cowboy boots for his shoes. I cut the book and words with my Cameo.
I used the Tim Holtz brick embossing folder on the background for texture.

CARDtober Challenge 08 Scraps Thanksgiving
This challenge was to use only scraps (except for the card base, but I used scraps for that, too) to make a Thanksgiving or Fall card. Since I had already cut up many of my scraps into banners and other card elements, it was both easier and harder than if I had just started with the original scraps. I used the bushel basket and stamp phrase from the new Queen & Co. Autumn Splendor kit. The patterned paper scraps were an old line from Little Yellow Bicycle, except for the brown plaid heart scrap, which was unmarked. Nearly everything in my stash is older, especially when it comes to papers.

CARDtober Challenge 06 Black, White, and Sparkle
This is the easiest, laziest card yet. The paper is black & white and had an interesting pattern to it. It looks layered, but it isn't. I added a dimensional butterfly sticker, and a few rhinestones(slightly larger "dots"). Both the butterfly and the rhinestones add sparkle for the twist.
CARDtober Challenge 05 Fun Fold Explosion Card
I learned how to make an explosion card from my former CTMH rep, but she called it an Explosion Card because you fill the inside with glitter, so it sort of explodes and makes a mess for the recipient. A twist was to use an element that you don't usually use. In this case, I used velcro so the belly band could be opened instead of slipped off in one piece.
The papers are from Graphic 45. Another find from Tuesday Morning from 2 to 3 or more years ago.
The small square card inside can be removed. A short note can be written on the back. No loose glitter. I hate glitter messes.
CARDtober Challenge 04 Card Stock Scrap Strips
This was a challenge to use card stock scrap strips on your card and add texture. I use my scraps, but this is the first time I have used them this way. Die cuts are Queen & Co. Sentiment stamp is from a Unity Stamp Co. set.
CARDtober Challenge 03 Unused Stamp Set
I knew exactly which unused stamp set I wanted to use for this challenge. In retrospect, I should have used a much darker ink for the porcupine and sentiment, but I am still sick, and still trying to get caught up after getting back late from vacation due to Hurricane Ian, so I won't be doing this one over. The stamp set is from Unity Stamp. The background paper is Winter Farmhouse Snowed In (B side), a find from at least two years ago at Tuesday Morning. I had trouble finding a card stock in my stash that matched, but thankfully had one sheet that worked. The die cuts are Queen & Co.

CARDtober Challenge 2 Triangle
This challenge was to use at least one triangle on a card. The twist was to color something. I used a fully colored die cut rather than coloring a stamped image. I've been wanting to try a layered card like this, and being sick, it seemed easier to do this than something else. My Cameo did the cutting. It was supposed to be a full 12 inch background. Sizing it down to 5 inches didn't go as well as I hoped, but it did okay. I added some Heartfelt Creations preprinted designs that I die cut (Climbing Clematis collection), and added a Queen & Co. "Hello" die cut to finish it off. It was supposed to be quick and easy. Right now, nothing is quick or easy, but at least one more challenge is done.

CARDtober Challenge 14 Holiday Magic
This challenge is to make a card inspired by some aspect of a holiday that is magical to you. For me, Christmas stockings held a wonder and a delight on Christmas Eve to Christmas morning. To make my stocking card a bit more magical, I made it a shaped card, and turned it into a shaker. (The red background is simply a piece of red card stock behind my shaped card to help it stand out for the photo.)
The twist is to make your card interactive in some way: a shaker, a pop up, have a lift and peek window....
OR if interactive is a bit more than you can manage, you can make a shaped card instead of interactive for the twist.

CARDtober 01 Halloween Card with Scraps
I'm starting the CARDtober challenges late. We were in Florida longer than expected due to Hurricane Ian, and I came back from our trip sick. I'm still struggling. This should have been an easy challenge. I have a ton of scraps, many of which were already cut into usable shapes. The card ended up busier than I would have liked, so I popped some elements, hoping it would help them stand out a bit. Anyway, it's done, and I can start Challenge #2.

CARDtober 2022 Challenge #7 It's Magical: Movie Magic
I am one of the CARDtober Challenge hosts again, and for my overall theme, I have chosen "It's Magical." Each Friday I will post my challenge and a sample card. This first Friday challenge is
"Movie Magic" and you are challenged to create a card that is inspired by a movie. The movie that inspired my card was "Around the World in 80 Days" with David Niven (an older movie). For the twist, create a card with a base shape that you don't usually do (I tend to do rectangle cards, so I chose to make mine square), fussy cut an element on your card, or use papers that you find challenging to use. I love Graphic 45, but it can be difficult to use sometimes, especially the papers that I chose for this card. The Graphic 45 papers I used for my card are from their World's Fair collection (a rather old collection). An additional point if you use paper that is at least 5 years old.
