Disney Layout for Jungle Book Challenge

The crop started two days ago. Since I was finishing journaling, I didn't start on the first challenge for the Disney crop until yesterday. The challenge was to be inspired by the Disney movie "The Jungle Book" and to use a lot of green. The easiest photos to scrap and meet the challenge were from the Jungle Cruise ride. The title was from Paper Wizard. It was a bit of a pain to put together, but I loved how it turned out. The page embellishments were adapted from Silhouette Design Store cutting files.

The journaling isn't done yet, but since this is being posted on the internet, I decided that I would take the photos before the journaling, anyway.

I'm Scrapbooking Again! Disney Layouts 2017Dec25 01 & 02

I haven't scrapbooked for over a year. The card class that I was doing sort of took over my life. That has ended, due to COVID-19, and we are under a "stay in place" order by our local government. I was planning on it, anyway. SleepingBooty on the RefuPeas site decided to organize a Stay Home crop for scrapbooking Disney, and it got me back to scrapbooking again.  I had two layouts that I did a year and a half ago, but I had never completed the journaling. I decided that I'd better start with finishing those two layouts. Today I will be working on a layout for the challenge. I am a slow scrapbooker, so we'll see how this goes.

We started our vacation on Christmas Day at Epcot. I adapted a Paper Wizard title, but I created the embellishment on the right page.

The next pages are separate layouts, but I color coordinated the two pages. The hot air balloon is a Silhouette Design Store file. The Spaceship Earth title was adapted from another Silhouette file.

Queen and Company Hot Air Balloon Shaker Card 01

I just got two of the new Queen and Company Shaker Card Kits in the mail on Monday. I got a card made with one of them yesterday. Instead of using their card base and foam, I cut Fun Foam and used card stock and background patterned paper (Above the Clouds from the Little Yellow Bicycle Escape collection) that I had on hand. I used their little green ball shaker fillers, but my own sequins, seed beads, and buttons for the filling. I haven't attached it to an actual card front yet, since I wanted a good photo.

I love this set. I'm sure I will be making more shakers with it. That is, after all, why I bought it.

Note: In case anyone wonders, I am not affiliated with Queen and Company or any other company in any way. I buy everything with my own money and post my projects here so that I can remember them easier for duplication, long after I have given my cards and projects away.

I am also a serious enabler.

Magic Iris Card with Heartfelt Creations Sea Breeze

My Magic Iris die set from Lawn Fawn arrived yesterday. This well engineered die set results in a very fun card. I used papers and die cuts from the Heartfelt Creations Sea Breeze collection to create this masculine birthday card. First, with the iris closed:

And next, with the iris open:

It was a definite hit. Most people love an interactive card, and that Magic Iris mechanism is going to intrigue anyone who receives one.

Get Well Shaker Card

I am kind of addicted to the Queen and Company shaker card kits. Recently I ordered the Love Jar Kit, and the Bug Jar Kit, along with the outline jar die. Their shipping is super fast! However, when my order arrived, the stamp set included with the Bug Jar kit was the wrong stamp set. I emailed them with a photo of the kit and what came in it, along with an explanation of the mistake. They promptly sent me the correct one, which arrived yesterday.

Since this is not only flu season, but coronavirus has reared its ugly head in my state, I figured I would use the set to make a Get Well Card. I stamped the jar lid top on Graphic 45's Romantic Rendezvous, from their Midnight Masquerade collection. The bugs in the jar shaker came with the kit, as well as the phrase. The purple mini beads were part of my stash. I don't know who makes them. I also added a few pinches of white glitter.  I used Wink of Stella to add some glimmer to the stamped insects, although it doesn't show as well in the photo as I'd hoped.

The embossed background was an embossed cardstock.

Birthday Trifold Card

I used a design by Lori Whitlock from the Silhouette Design Store for this one. The purple patterned paper is from Graphic 45. I used an old Cuttlebug embossing folder on the aqua cardstock, and the cupcake stamp was from My Favorite Things Sweet Birthday Wishes set. The Happy Birthday banner is from a Young At Heart stamp set (discontinued) by Heartfelt Creations. The banner is popped, but it is positioned to hold the card flap closed.

This is how it looks completely open:

I probably could have decorated the inside, but I may have to mass produce this card, since it may be one of the patterns I use for the birthday cards I make for the ladies at church.

It works out to between 200 and 240 birthday cards per year. I'm not sure that I want to keep this up, but I haven't decided yet.

"Disney" Shaker

I have found some papers at Tuesday Morning recently that are "Disney" themed, so I decided to make a Disney inspired shaker card. I used my Silhouette to create a cutting file for the shaker part. I used candy nonpareils from the cake section for the shaker filler.

The one different thing about this shaker is that the shaker can be seen from the inside of the card after opening, as well as from the front before opening the card.

The "Have A Wonderful Day" stamp is from Heartfelt Creations. The stamp "I see no good reason to act our age" is from one of the "Oldies" stamp sets by Art Impressions.

One of my former scrapping buddies moved to California and lives close enough to Disneyland to visit often. I will be sending this card to her.

Birthday Shaker with My Favorite Things

Recently My Favorite Things had a sale, and they included some shaker windows. I got the matching die set for one of them. I also bought a birthday stamp set that was really cute. The small stamped images were Studio G dollar stamps from years ago, but the little girl with the cupcake, the sentiment above her, and the shaker are from My Favorite Things. The little beads inside were found at convention a few years ago. I'm not even sure which company sold them. The embossing folder is a very old Cuttlebug folder.

I will probably be making this card, and the lilacs card (not the sympathy one, but the one shown before that) with my card group this month. Normally we make three cards, but the two cards are both a bit more time consuming to make.
